Mr. Wong, Tony – Chairman of Hong Kong Comics and Animation Federation

Comics transcend borders, cultures, and languages, connecting readers across generations through creativity and storytelling. Since its establishment in 1996, the International Comic Artists Conference (ICC) has fostered cultural exchange and provided a valuable platform for artists and industry professionals to collaborate and innovate.

In 2013, Hong Kong proudly hosted the 14th ICC. Twelve years later, we are honoured to take  this vital mission again, welcoming leading comic artists, professionals, and enthusiasts from around the world to explore the future of comic culture at the 20th ICC.

This year’s theme, “The New Wave of Global Comics: Resonance with the New Generation” addresses the industry’s adaptation to the rapid growth of social media and artificial intelligence, meeting the expectations of young readers, and advancing innovation in marketing and content creation. We aim to exchange insights in content development, digital applications, market strategies, and emerging media platforms — ensuring comics to remain relevant to the values and lifestyles of today’s audience.
